Suffering from back pain? MedWell Spine, OsteoArthritis & Neuropathy Center can help!
Back pain is an extremely common condition and can be absolutely debilitating. Approximately 85% of the population will have to deal with it at some point in their lives. This is so incredibly close to encompassing all of us that it is no wonder that 6.8% of adults within the United States will suffer from back pain lasting two weeks or more! The accumulated cost of this issue is about $50 billion U.S. Dollars each year. Can you imagine how many backs add up to that amount?
The type and severity of the ailment dictates which standard medical approach will be most appropriate. These traditional therapies include hot and cold packs, ultrasound, physical therapy, pain medication, or muscle relaxers. Unfortunately, none of these have been terribly successful, at least not long-term. In that case, especially when the condition worsens, surgery may be required and sometimes is actually necessary.
There are times when there is just no getting around needing back surgery. However, studies suggest that where intense pain in the lower back is concerned, surgery should seldom be done. Reports of the return of symptoms within two years or less have surfaced for many people. This can lead to more surgery and for some it brings lasting reprieve. For others, surgery has no effect at all.

Are you in the position of considering surgery for sciatica, herniated or bulging disc or some other issue with your spine? Take a closer look at spinal decompression therapy. It has been shown that this form of treatment offers impressive alleviation from spinal stenosis, herniated discs, sciatica, facet syndrome, and degenerative discs.
A bulging disc happens when the hard outer layer of a spinal disc pushes into the spinal canal. A herniated disc occurs when one of the discs that provides a rubbery cushion between each vertebrae has problems. It is soft, but the hard exterior can crack and the disc pushes through. This can cause severe irritation to the nerves in close proximity. It can cause pain or numbness in the extremities.
The sciatic nerve stretches from the low end and travels down the back of the thigh to the knee. When this nerve becomes inflamed, it is known as sciatica and can become extremely painful. It can be sharp, burning, prickling or tender.
Movement and decompression can return important nutrients to the discs. The problem disc is placed under pressure and a vacuum is established. The disc will return to its place and the oxygen and blood supply needed is brought in to encourage healing.
We take a different approach to the treatment and prevention of low back pain.
